Stats, damage, and power level

Strength is 0.5 damage per point, Defense is 24 HP per point, and base power level is (Strength + Defense) times 140 plus current Ki.

The three stats

Open Stats from the menu. The HUD shows base and additional Defense, base Strength, Ki damage, Ki Skill Mastery, max Ki, charge speed, and Power Output.

  • 1 Strength = 0.5 damage on a normal attack.
  • 1 Defense = 24 HP.
  • 66% of base Defense is applied to Ki base Defense.
  • 200% of base Strength is applied to base Ki damage, along with max Ki.

Power Output scales Strength. The community stats page says that as of 17 October 2024 the number you pick may not match the number the game applies. Base power level is still calculated as if Power Output is 100%.

Power level

Base power level uses this published formula:

((Base Strength + Base Defense) * 140) + current Ki

A character with exactly 10,000 Strength and 10,000 Defense is about 2,800,000 power level before Ki is added. Hidden decimals can move the displayed number because the menu rounds stats.

After a transformation, the Power Levels page uses:

(Additional Strength * 200) + base power level

The Stats page prints a different transformed formula and marks that line inaccurate. Use the Power Levels version. The same page's False Super Saiyan example, 10,000 in both stats, lands around 4,062,000 power level, which matches treating the form formula's result as Additional Strength.

This site does not ship a calculator for that formula. The installed calculator handlers are built for other games' drop and profit models, not this power-level equation. Multiply the stats yourself, and remember current Ki is added only to the base figure.

Where stats come from

Battle, dummy hits, mentor clears, quests, meditation, Dragon Stones, Gravity Chamber, Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and a Shenron strength wish all add stats. The strength wish documented on the stats page is 30,000 Strength and 30,000 Defense. A separate community Dragon Ball page says that amount is raised over time, so read the wish text before you spend the set.

Weights add stats per hit and work in the chamber minigames: Light +0.06, Medium +0.12, Heavy +0.25. Foods add more per hit for a short timer and do not stack with minigames. See Training items.
